How to reach the city from the airports

  • Milan Linate (LIN 7 km from the centre): the connection between Linate Airport and Milan Duomo M1 – M3 (Piazza Diaz) is made by bus line73. From Linate Airport it is also possible to reach Dateo station with the underground blue line.
  • Milan Malpensa (MXP 45 km from the centre): the connection between Malpensa airport and the city is made by the Malpensa Express train.
  • Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY 50 km from the centre): the connection between Bergamo Orio al Serio airport and the city is made by private bus companies such as Terravision and Orio Shuttle.

How to move once in Milan

The city is served by a capillary network of underground and overground public transport.

On the underground and on bus lines 56, 70 and 73 you can buy your ticket by paying directly at the turnstiles or on board the bus with the contactless bank cards of the Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Maestro and VPay circuits. The service has no commissions, nor is it necessary to register.

For the other bus and tram lines, you can buy ATM tickets on the ATM Milano official app or at any of the authorized outlets (bars, tobacconists, stationers, newspaper stands) found throughout the Milan area and on intercity routes. In this case, it may be useful to evaluate the following rates (which are calculated automatically in contactless payment):

  • Daily ticket: 7€, 24h
  • 3-day ticket: 12 €, valid for 3 consecutive days from the first validation, until the end of the transport service on the third day, i.e. at 03:45 in the morning
  • Carnet 10 tickets: 18 €, each ticket is valid for 90 minutes from the first validation

  • The university canteen (via Festa del Perdono) offers a complete lunch at an affordable price

The street in front of the university, via Festa Del Perdono, offers numerous bars where you can eat a sandwich, a pizza or a quick meal.

In the surrounding area there are other places where you can have lunch:

  • La Bottega di via Laghetto (2-minute walk from the University) is a great place to eat a good sandwich or a platter of cold cuts;
  • Ciciarà (2-minute walk from the University) is a place that offers classic dishes of Italian cuisine;

  • Luini Panzerotti (10-minute walk from the University) is an ancient popular oven in Milan where you can eat panzerotti;
